Vegas Roundup

Hubby and I recently were in Las Vegas soaking up some glorious sunshine (in between gambling in smoky casinos). We left MN at the perfect time as it was snowing and cold. These are a few outfits I wore while there!

First outfit. I love how this top combines two of the biggest trends I've seen as of late: the kimono inspired top and tassels. I also love the color scheme, particularly against all the green palm trees as pictured here. Best part? The shorts and the top are both from Target, so they are incredibly affordable. Yahtze!
Less affordable are the mirrored Ray-ban glasses, but they are one of my favorite purchases of the summer thus far, and they come in a bunch of colors. The shoes I'm wearing in the first two outfits are some of my favorites as well. They are incredibly versatile both in the wedge style and the nude color. The geometric cut-out pattern also gives them a little sass that separates them from your standard wedge.

Second outfit. Remember how I said in my very first post how I've been inspired by blogs for years? This is an example. This outfit is heavily influenced by A Spoonful of Style. I did add a bit of my own style to this outfit by wearing this light and airy dress on an unseasonably windy day on a Vegas rooftop. This photo was taken mere moments before the wind nearly took my dress off, and I flashed the entire pool. You're welcome, Cosmo. You're welcome...

Third outfit. Praise ______! (insert higher power of choice here) The one-piece swimsuit is back! And, yes. I AM wearing heels with my swimsuit. But this is the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas! If there is any pool in the world to rock heels with your swimsuit, this is it. And, I'll be honest, I'd wear heels to my 4 year old niece's backyard pool party complete with inflatable pool. But I digress. The one piece...
The sexiest thing in the world is confidence, and I myself am SO much more confident when I'm not desperately worried about the varying states of my mid-section whilst walking to the pool bar to order a tropical libation. In the one piece, I can breathe and, more importantly, laugh and have fun! I own several (OK, 50+) 2 pieces. And they are great. And on day 1 of vacation, I am more than happy to wear any of them. After days of living it up in Vegas, i.e. visiting every buffet on the strip, however, I am not trying to flaunt my middle. That's just me. I'm sure there people reading that feel sexy and confident no matter what. To be honest? I envy you. As for me? While I wait to attain that level of security myself, I'll be loving life in my hot pink non-bikini.  :-)
